Cheryl Turner gives tribute to Jane Slowey

Like so many others, I have been very saddened by the news that the wonderful Jane Slowey has passed away. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of enjoying Jane’s warmth and wisdom in numerous settings but it is her contribution to the Third Sector National Learning Alliance (TSNLA) that I would like to honour here. Jane was part of a small group of voluntary sector people who invested considerable time in creating a national ‘voice’ for VCS learning and skills providers. Like other projects with ambitions exceeding their resources, it wasn’t always an easy road and Jane’s characteristic energy, common sense and vision were indispensable to ensuring the TSNLA emerged. It remains a proud part of Jane’s rich legacy. We will all miss her greatly.
