Enter the London Voices citizen journalism competition

TSNLA Investor member London Learning Consortium launches an exciting new citizen journalism competition across the capital.

This invitation is shared on behalf of London Learning Consortium - a TSNLA investor member: We are writing to you to invite you to encourage your members and learner to enter our exciting London Voices project.

LLC and the Media Society have launched the London Voices project across our City's communities. This project is to engage London residents of all ages and backgrounds and introduce them to the world of journalism and media.

We are aiming to engage London residents, workers and learners to promote the use of citizen journalism as a form of effective social commentary and a voice for action. All Londoners are encouraged to enter the competition and get their voice heard!  LLC is contributing funds from its community learning grant and providing project management.

The project has four distinct 'Your Voice Your City' Themes to shape participants work (Community Voices; When You’re Young; My City of the Future; and Social Media, the New Democracy?). The work in these themes will be judged as part of a project competition with a top prize of a £2,000 bursary from the Media Society. The shortlisted entrants and winners will be invited to an awards ceremony at the prestigious Media Society summer drinks party  in June 2017. This will provide not only a high profile venue and event, but give shortlisted entrants the chance to meet some of the most influential people in journalism and media.
