The ESFA has ridden rough-shod over the work of many vital third sector providers. The TSNLA's Tim Ward demands answers in this expert article in FE News
TSNLA Chief Executive Tim Ward has written an expert article in FE Week about some of the disastrous consequences of AEB procurement on third sector provision across the country. In it, he claims that the ESFA has ridden rough-shod over the work of many vital third sector providers.
The procurement was done without any public consultation or discussion about the impact on current and potential learners that will result from the ruination of learning opportunities. Many of these opportunities were offered by providers who have been praised by Ofsted for their work in supporting vulnerable learners to progress to further learning and work.
Mr Ward also highlights the irrational consequences facing contract 'winners' who face in-year cuts of 50% (with no access to the transitional contracts being offered to those who were not successful or did not bid).
