Hello to the new Education and Skills Funding Agency

The Education Funding Agency and Skills Funding Agency have merged to become one body. The new, single funding agency - called the Education and Skills Funding Agency - sits within the Department for Education and began to operate in April 2017. Peter Lauener, the chief executive of both EFA and SFA, will retire soon, but will stay as Chief Executive of the new ESFA until a permanent replacement has been recruited and is in place.

The new body is responsible for overseeing the funding of education for pupils aged 5 to 16, education and training for those aged 16 to 19, apprenticeships, adult education and managing school building programmes in England.
