Work & Health Programme roundtable with voluntary sector members in East London - 15 June 2017
Maximus Health Work roundtable with voluntary sector members - 15 June 2017
MAXIMUS HealthWorks have been shortlisted as a potential provider of the Work & Health Programme in East London (covering the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Bexley, Bromley, Enfield, Greenwich, Havering, Newham, Redbridge and Waltham Forest) and Central London (covering the boroughs of City of London, Westminster, Camden, Islington, Lambeth, Southwark, Kensington and Chelsea, Wandsworth, Hackney, Haringey, Tower Hamlets and Lewisham).
The Work & Health Programme is a new programme commissioned by local authority partnerships with a budget devolved from the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP). It will replace previous employment support programmes in London including Work Programme and Work Choice, creating a new service to support people with disabilities and health conditions, those who are long-term unemployed, and those from a diverse range of disadvantaged groups, into sustainable employment. The programme aims to better align local services, appropriately integrate health support, and ultimately create healthier working communities.
They are keen to engage with the voluntary sector to understand how better they can work together to support Work & Health Programme participants into sustained employment. MAXIMUS HealthWorks is holding a roundtable discussion on the Work and Health Programme with organisation from the voluntary and community sector on Thursday 15th June in Southwark.
Who is the roundtable for?
If your organisation is from the voluntary and community sector and you provide support and services to people out of work or from a disadvantaged group (for example individuals who are homeless, have an offending history or are substance dependent, veterans, carers or those from a refugee background) in any of the boroughs covered above, they would be delighted to hear from you. Services you provide may range from general advice and guidance to delivering specific interventions.
What is the purpose of the roundtable?
• Shape and influence how they work with you to support disadvantaged groups into work;
• Influence how a prime contractor collaborates and integrates with the vital services the voluntary and community sector provides to disadvantaged groups and explore and map how we can work together.
While MAXIMUS HealthWorks, through a competitive and open process, has already identified potential supply chain partners for the delivery of the Work & Health Programme, the roundtable will identify other ways to collaborate, aligning funding streams, integrating service delivery and exploring mutual co-location.
